Requirements For Enrollment

In order to enroll in Mountaineer Beauty College, Inc. students must have a high school diploma or GED (wallet size documents are acceptable), a current TB skin test result, proof having a Tetanus shot within the last ten years, a copy of their birth certificate and a valid driver’s license or state ID. A student Registration Application for a Student Permit is also required and can be obtained at Mountaineer Beauty College, either by mail or by stopping by our office and speaking with our Registrar. Mountaineer Beauty College, Inc. is a Title IV approved school and we accept the Pell Grant as Financial Aid. If you are interested in finding out if you qualify, our registrar can help in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and calculate your eligibility. We welcome anyone who would like to tour our facility either with, or without an appointment.

Classes/Schedules

Mountaineer Beauty College, Inc. holds classes in Cosmetology and Manicuring four times a year. Classes begin in the months of January, March July and October. Financial Aid is offered for those who qualify for our Cosmetology course, which is 2000 clock hours. Our Manicuring course is 400 clock hours and the Pell Grant will not cover this course due to its short schedule. An optional 600 hour course is offered and Pell Grant accepted if you qualify.

Students are in class 5 days a week; Tuesday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm and Saturday 8:00am to 4:00pm. For the first 300 hours in Cosmetology, students will be off the clinic floor and attending Theory and Practical classes all day, every day. Once they have reached their 300 hours, students will begin work on clients on the clinic floor under supervision of an instructor, and will have Theory Class Tuesday through Thursday 8:30am to 9:45am. Manicuring students follow a similar schedule on a 100-hour basis.

Students are to act and dress professionally and are required to wear uniforms to school. Shoes are to be white or black. Backless shoes are approved for classes, although socks or hose are to be worn at all times. No open-toed shoes are permitted.

The West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists to operate as a school on our state license Mountaineer Beauty College, Inc. our accreditation is through the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Science (NACCAS).
